New effort, established in partnership with the Motion Picture Television Fund, will provide immediate financial assistance to DGA members affected by recent wildfires

LOS ANGELES, CA – The Directors Guild Foundation announced today the creation of a dedicated disaster relief grant program administered by the Motion Picture Television Fund (MPTF), which offers direct financial support to DGA members impacted by the recent wildfire emergency in Los Angeles. The fund is established by a $250,000 donation by the Directors Guild Foundation. The DGA has also authorized an additional $100,000 to cover additional member needs as necessary.

Impacted members can access $2,000 grants to help with emergency relocation costs, or for help with replacing personal property. Applications are now available by calling (323) 634-3888 or by emailing info@mptf.com. MPTF counselors are available to help fast track applications. DGA members in good standing with the Guild and who live in fire-impacted areas are eligible for support.

“I am inspired by the strength and resolve of the DGA community to help one another at a time of immense need,” said Directors Guild Foundation Chair Todd Holland. “This fund will provide critical resources directly to impacted DGA members as they begin the difficult process of rebuilding their lives. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by this tragedy.”

“The MPTF is proud to partner with the Directors Guild Foundation to get critical relief directly to those in need,” said Bob Beitcher, MPTF, President & CEO. “We are ready to ensure that these emergency grants reach impacted members as quickly as possible. This effort reflects the unwavering solidarity of our entertainment community, and we are honored to play a role in this important initiative.”
